We are a farm located in western Livingston County, MI We have 23 rolling acres, hence the name Topsy Turvy Acres. We have raised sheep, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese and hogs throughout the years. Although Jay's children no longer live on the farm, they raised many 4H champion animals over the years. We bred Suffolk sheep for 10 years at one point having a flock exceeding 125 ewes. We still have a small flock of Jacob sheep.
Topsy Turvy Acres is now a Limited Liability Corporation that is a partnership between Jay Johnson and Lisa Jones. Jay is a retired driver from a major delivery company. Lisa joins us from Los Angeles where she left behind a sister and a corporate job that she no longer found challenging. She has made the transition from a "valley girl" to a farmer quite admirably. Leaving behind our off the farm jobs, we are now focused on raising pastured poultry and eggs. We have been joined in our venture by Jay's daughter and son-in-law who own and operate the processing facility where our poultry is done. Although there are no legal ties between the two corporations, we are very happy to have such a good working relationship that enables us to provide a finished product which we are all very proud of We have supplied Sugar Kisses Bakery in Royal Oak with eggs for more than a year now and would like to thank them for their support and the wonderful baked goods that they produce. We are just beginning to supply Plum Market with our products and are very excited to join them as a vendor. Visit them soon it is a wonderful store! Our main source of sales has been at farmers markets up to this point. We have now reached the point that we can produce enough product to enable us to supply other bakeries, restaurants, caterers and select retail outlets.
